The first week of May we hosted a special K9 Critical Care Training for handlers in the Danbury area, and it was a great success. This is the fifth program of this type we have done, and each one has been bigger and better. We had over 10 handlers attend this past course, and through all-day instruction, they learned about aspects of helping their K9 partners with injuries and issues they may encounter in the field from training injuries to traumatic events while on duty. We also conducted hands-on training in providing that immediate field triage, safely security and transporting their dogs, and how to keep on top of assessing the everyday health and wellness of their dogs.
Here's a sneak peak of this training as a "day in pictures" below! We are excited to be lining up the next set of courses soon. If you'd like to know how you can help keep this happening for our units, be sure to check out our K9CC page for more information, as well as how you can donate and get some great K9CC gear for yourself at www.earsct.org/k9-critical-care.html
